Blackhawk

October 2007 - Massaro Construction Management Services, LLC has been awarded a contract by the Blackhawk School District to provide preconstruction and construction phase services for the district’s Highland Middle School project. This 150,000 square foot replacement middle school will house 850 students in grades five through eight and will be constructed on the land adjacent to the existing facility. The project will also include renovations, extensive site improvements and new athletic facilities. The gym, cafeteria and vocational arts areas will be renovated into spaces that will be utilized by both the district and the local Beaver Falls community. Site improvements include dedicated entrances for busses and student drop off / pick up, amphitheater and nature trails. Plans also include a new athletic field and running track.

Inspired by the latest educational tools and curriculum currently being used by the Microsoft and the Philadelphia School District joint venture, this new middle school will feature a high-tech curriculum in conjunction with state-of-the-art learning facilities that focus on developing technical literacy.
