City of Pittsburgh Facility Analysis and Management Planning Services

February 2010 -The city of Pittsburgh hired Massaro CM Services, LLC and Massaro Properties, LLC to conduct a comprehensive facility management study of the city’s approximately 300 structures that total more than 2.1 million square feet of building space. These buildings range from the City-County Building on Grant Street downtown to numerous shelters found in city parks.

The analysis is a three-phase study, which includes an Optimization Plan, Space Utilization Plan and a Preventive Maintenance Master Plan. In collaboration with the city staff, Massaro will provide a cost-benefit analysis for upgrading facilities; an energy assessment encompassing LEED certification for selected buildings; and a review of protocols for the administration of long-term facility management and maintenance for its real estate portfolio.

This multi-million dollar project commenced in January and is planned to conclude in December of 2010.
