August 2009 - In an effort to control excess paper waste throughout the bidding process, Massaro CM Services implemented a new tool to better coordinate our practices during the Bethel Park High School project. In collaboration with Washington Reprographics, Massaro established a project website, which is accessible to all participating bidding contractors. Once registered with this website as a participating contractor, you can view and purchase any/all contract documents.

This replaces the laborious process of preparing numerous sets of bidding documents for bidders to purchase and then struggling with a return/reimbursing process. In the case of Bethel Park, the bid set contains 700 drawings and 4 volumes of specifications. To date, over 70 contractors are participating.

Through mass e-mails to the registered participating contractors announcements can be made about new items posted on the website for review such as bid addenda, RFI questions and answers, bidders lists, pre bid meeting minutes and any project bidding update. This new tool allows a streamline, almost paperless process, for the distribution of an enormous volume of bidding information to multiple contractors eager to be as informed as possible on bid day.
