Massaro CM Services on Team Hired to Study Blair County Ballpark

May 2008 - The Blair County Ballpark is celebrating its tenth season as the home of the Altoona Curve, the Pittsburgh Pirates’ AA affiliate. The 7,500 seat ballpark has held up well over the past decade, but is now undergoing an intensive study to evaluate current and future maintenance and capital improvements.

Greensons Baseball, LP the managing partnership of the Altoona Curve hired L. Robert Kimball and Associates Architects and Engineers to evaluate the existing condition of the stadium’s architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, site amenities and athletic specialty systems. Kimball teamed with Massaro CM Services to provide comprehensive cost estimating for the maintenance and improvement recommendations outlined in their architectural and engineering report. This cost analysis will provide the ownership with the financial information necessary to insure this season and the next 10 seasons at the ballpark are a success. The group also studied the future needs of the facility to ensure that the Altoona Ballpark will be able to expand with the growing needs of the Curve, and also provide accommodations for the wide variety of other venues held there.
