Plum Borough Elementary School Expansion and Renovation
December 2009 - Massaro CM Services, LLC has been hired by the Plum Borough School District to provide both preconstruction and agency construction management services for the district’s 2011 renovation and construction project. The scope of this $27 million project is three-fold, including renovations to two existing elementary buildings and the construction of a new elementary facility.
The extensive 54,500 square foot renovations to the Adlai Stevenson Elementary School will include the replacement of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, installation of new ceilings and roof, and new interior/exterior doors and windows. The estimated 2,380 square feet of new construction to this building will provide additional classroom and curriculum space, a new kitchen and new restroom facilities.
The scope of the alterations to the 49,000 square foot Holiday Park Elementary School encompasses the replacement of exterior doors and windows, complete renovation of the exterior aluminum/glass/panel system, replacement of the plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems, and new restrooms and kitchen.
Both of these renovation projects will provide asbestos abatement, accessibility and code upgrades, and new security systems.
The New Pivik Elementary School is expected to encompass an estimated 66,780 square feet of classroom space and amenities. Massaro CM Services, LLC working with L. Robert Kimball & Associates and a district representative, will manage the construction of the building from the ground up, including identifying possible building locations and evaluating building images and floor designs.
All three projects are intended to qualify for Silver Leed Certification.
